All About Vinyasa —Collaboration Workshop with Juha Javanainen

Vinyasa - Ashtanga Yoga Intensive Week

Come immerse yourself in five deeply nourishing days of Yoga, movement, breath, and connection this October 14-19 in beautiful Odeceixe, Portugal. Join Petri Räisänen, Juha Javanäinen and Wambui Njuguna-Räisänen for an All About Vinyasa workshop, where the traditional Ashtanga-Vinyasa system meets creativity, care, and community.

You’ll rise with Mysore-style self-led practice in the mornings, explore led Primary Series classes, and in the afternoons dive into workshops exploring the different flavors of Vinyasa, movement tools, breath, bandhas and drishti. Gentle pranayama and meditation sessions will help deepen your connection to your inner rhythm.

Beyond the mat, expect plenty of space for relaxation, beach time, walks in nature, shared meals and optional local adventures. Whether you're fluent in Vinyasa, curious about it, or somewhere in between, this gathering is crafted to help you move with awareness, build strength, fluidity and steadiness — all in a trauma-informed, warm, embracing setting.

We will have 1-2 batches of Mysore classes on the weekdays mornings starting at 6am (October 7-12 2025) and 1 batch of the afternoon workshops. The led class on Friday 10th will take place at the yoga shala at 6am (and 8am if needed). On the weekend (October 10-12) we will have 1-2 Mysore batches starting at 7:00am.

Besides the yoga program, we will have dinners, beach hang-out time, surfing, nature walks and trips together (or as you wish), with bigger or smaller groups of students. There is a great opportunity to try surfing as there are surfing schools in every bigger beach in the area.

Mysore Style = Self Led practice with Petri and Wambui’s experienced, sensitive and healing adjustments.Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings

Led Class = On Fridays guided full primary series class. If you are not doing the full Primary series, you can decide when you would like to stop your practice.

Accessible Ashtanga = On Fridays, you can join in a softer, slower, gentler quarter primary series with Wambui. This option is suitable for beginners, those with mobility concerns and /or recovering from injury; or those who wish to gain the benefit of the Ashtanga Yoga practice but through a trauma-informed framework.

Pranayama = Light, simple and beneficial breathing exercises for a deeper understanding about the breath and energy work.

NOTE: Some of the afternoon classes, especially Pranayamas can be held outdoors, if the weather is suitable!
